Practising Relaxation

One of the most important things I have to do when I visit a dog on a consultation is change the way the human is thinking. Whether the human is suffering from depression, anxiety, frustration or anger, I help to change their emotions from unbalanced to balanced.  Without this the dog will not change.
The techniques I teach work on anyone, regardless of whether they have a dog or not.

Dog Racism

Racism! It's an ugly word. With uglier thoughts!

It brings together feelings of 'them and us'. It also carries with it little empathy. It's ignorance of the highest order. We all have feelings and we all bleed the same blood, regardless of colour or nationality. Racism causes misery for millions of people around the world and unless we treat other people how we would like to be teated ourselves, it will continue. This ugly word and emotion is not just aimed at humans, it is also very much alive and kicking in the dog world.

Calm Down and Learn From Your Dog

The world at the moment seems to be filled with many negative energies.

War, fighting, killing, anger, greed, stress, I could go on and on.

Many individual’s are also suffering from some form of mental illness, mainly depression. In 2010/11 alone, 43.4 million prescriptions were given to people for antidepressants in the UK.

With all these negative things happening, many people search for a new meaning to life.

Your Dog Walking New Year's Resolution

Million's of people worldwide will be making New Year's resolutions on Saturday night, why not make one for you and your dog.

If your dogs could speak, they would want you to make one resolution only, and that would be to master the lead walk.

Make it a promise for 2012 for you and your dog, that one of your walks each day will be a lead walk.  Remember walking a dog properly is the closest way of bonding with our four legged Guardian Angels.

Happy New Year to all my clients and I wish you every success in 2012.

Where to find a Dog

There are so many dogs now packed into animal rescue centres that believe me, the dog you need is out there.

Choosing the right dog can be difficult as there are so many factors to consider and it's important to find the right dog to suit your lifestyle, home and energy.  With this in mind I have started a new service for people trying to find a dog, where I will go with you to a dog rescue centre and carefully match you with the rescue dog best suited to you.

For my standard consultancy fee, I will do the following:

How to Have the Perfect Relationship with Your Dog - Part 2

The Walk/Excercise

The closest way to bond with your dog is by walking your dog, twice each day. A back yard is not a substitute for a walk. We as humans can go where we want, when we want. We have our friends, our work, our entertainment, our holidays - OUR DOGS ONLY HAVE US.

A dog wants to see and share the world as much as we do and by doing so this is how they grow mentally and this in turn leads to balance. Share your world with your dog, because your dog will always share their world with you.

How to Have the Perfect Relationship with Your Dog - Part 1

The Dog

Dogs are born balanced and only know calm, assertive energy, which they receive from their Mother. They need structure and discipline in their lives and if they feel you are not leading them, they will lead you.

If you react in a frustrated way to your dog, they view this as weakness. If you are nervous or anxious around your dogs, they view this as you being unstable. They look to us to be strong calm leaders, where they always know they can depend on us to guide them through any situation. This in turn creates trust, loyalty and respect.

Children and Dogs

I will soon be starting kid's classes, where children can come along and be educated on how to approach and interact with dogs safely.

This is a very important subject that is not being addressed enough in the dog world and with this in mind I look forward to starting these classes initially in Farnborough Village but I am more than happy to work with schools and nursery’s in different areas, where I can visit with one of my dogs and give an educational talk to children of all ages.

Dog Abandoned for not Matching Decor

I read it in the newspapers, I see it on tv and the internet and am bitterly disappointed and angry at the amount of dogs that are 'thrown away' in our supposedly dog loving country by humans that should not be let within a square mile reach of a dog.

The United Kingdom has one of the worst records for dog abandonment in Europe, with up to 200,000 dogs each year needlessly destroyed.
